The Woman Behind the Work

For years, I thought something was wrong with me.

I struggled with sugar addiction, my weight, and the emotional patterns underneath it all. At my highest, I weighed over 240 pounds. I had experienced trauma, learned to hide what I was feeling, and used food and sugar as a way to cope.

In 2011, I lost more than 80 pounds. But losing the weight didn’t mean I had unraveled the story underneath it. Because also in 2011, I experienced the heart-wrenching news of a miscarriage, then shortly after, the happy news of my rainbow baby.

Then came years of experiences that changed how I understood health, healing, and myself.

In 2016, a motor vehicle accident left me with a concussion that went undiagnosed for eight months, and a broken hand for twenty-one months. In 2017, landed me the diagnosis of Celiac Disease and multiple food intolerances that would later turn to food allergies. I was also dismissed completely by a doctor who threw in the towel, saying, “I have gotten you as good as I can. You will be on pain meds and sitting in a chair the rest of your life.” What followed was a long season of searching for answers and trying to understand what was happening in my body and my life.

Through it all, I kept searching.

I studied. I learned. I asked questions. I explored natural wellness, herbalism, facial analysis, trauma-informed work, and the connection between the body, mind, emotions, and spirit.

But the biggest discovery wasn’t another protocol or another answer.

I wasn’t broken. I was missing the connection.

I began to see that our bodies don’t exist separately from our stories. Our patterns, habits, relationship with food, emotions, identity, and even the way we experience our bodies can have layers beneath the surface.

And sometimes, the story we’re living from isn’t even ours.

That realization became part of my own restoration journey, and eventually, the foundation for the work I do today.

I founded Empowered by Nature Wellness Center to create a place where people could slow down, look beneath the surface, and begin connecting the dots instead of being reduced to a symptom, label, diagnosis, or problem.

Today, I bring together my training as a Certified Master Herbalist, Facial Analysis Master, and trauma-informed coach with whole-person wellness and Spirit-led restoration.

But more than anything, I bring the perspective of someone who has been there.

I know what it is like to search for answers, to wonder if you’re the problem, and to realize that restoration isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about uncovering what was buried, restoring what was disconnected, and returning to who God created you to be.

That is why I do this work.

And that is why Empowered by Nature exists.
